Bisley Case Study
Bisley Workwear Australia (Bisley) – a leader in hand protection and PPE – was referred to Rackman Australia by one of their clients.
Bisley was relocating to a new, larger premises in a move which would combine three separate warehouses and needed a racking and shelving solution to maximise pallet storage and pick face and create an efficient pick path.
The Rackman team worked closely with Bisley representatives to understand their specific requirements and design the best layout to maximise space and house their range of products.
After just the second drawing presentation, the layout was finalised and Rackman was awarded the project.
We chose Rackman because of their consultative approach in finalising layout, the speed and accuracy of their responses, efficient delivery lead times and commitments, and their competitive pricing,” said Arun Mandapaka, Supply Chain Operational Manager, Bisley Sales Pty Ltd.
The Rackman team visited Bisley’s new premises prior to installation to ensure the build matched the CAD drawings supplied, made minor amendments, and then worked with the builder to comply with all OHS requirements throughout the build.
Rackman’s bespoke racking solution enabled Bisley to set-up their new premises as a “one stop shop” for their customers and house their range of products in an easily accessible and presentable way.
Bisley further challenged Rackman to address their reoccurring issue of items with slippery packaging falling between the racks which created stock issues and posed a potential safety risk for Bisley staff when trying to retrieve the products.
To address this issue, and as part of our commitment to offering tailored, quality solutions for our clients, Rackman called upon its network of suppliers. Together, we created a mesh decking option not typically seen in the industry in back-to-back selective pallet racking. It covered both bays and created a 2110 deep picking level and prevented items falling between the racks.
“Rackman was proactive and safety-focussed in their approach – something which is really important to us at Bisley,” said Mr Mandapaka.
The Rackman team was also delighted to offer Bisley competitive trade-in rates for their current, not fit-for-purpose shelving, and find opportunities to repurpose existing racking to reduce costs.
The project was completed on time, on budget and to the highest standard and Bisley was very pleased with the result
“Rackman’s communication, planning, product quality, and execution were spot on. Bisley’s experience with Rackman gives me confidence that our collaboration has an exciting future and that there will be many more projects.”
